Ram vs Ford

Ram vs Ford Ram vs Ford

Are you ready to find out what makes Ram and Ford distinct? While both offer comparable modes of transportation, they’re more unique than you may think. LaFontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR) of Walled Lake decided to inform Walled Lake, Novi, and Pontiac, Michigan, truck shoppers about the differences between the brands.

Truck Histories

  • Ram Brand - In 1914, Dodge began manufacturing motor vehicles. It took until 1980 for the first Ram to appear on the scene. Dodge owned the Ram name and the entire lineup of vehicles, so the trucks were called Dodge Rams instead of simply Rams. The brands stuck together until 2009 when they split, although they share the same parent company.

  • Ford Brand - Henry Ford changed the world by introducing his first car in 1896 and then created his namesake company in 1903. It took nearly 15 years for Ford to manufacture their first truck in 1917. They continue to produce cars and other trucks that compete with Ram.

How the Lineups Differ

  • Ram Lineup - Ram puts most of its focus on trucks. Since they mostly manufacture trucks, they’re experts at figuring out what truck drivers want. The lineup consists of many versions of the 1500 as well as the 2500 and the 3500, which offer performance and amenities ideal for work or play. You can find vans and trucks suitable for businesses through the ProMaster® series.

  • Ford Lineup - Ford does not focus on one type of vehicle; they go out of bounds with trucks, SUVs, and muscle cars. While they produce trusty trucks, such as the F-150, Super Duty, Ranger, and Maverick, they also offer the Explorer and other SUVs as well as the Mustang. Their focus remains diverted, and they do not concentrate on simply trucks, which may cause some important attributes to be overlooked.

Storage System Differences

Both sets of trucks provide diverse places to store your items, whether in the truck cabin or in the truck bed. Plus, they all give you the opportunity to tow a trailer or other items with their array of towing capacities.

The only major difference comes with an option that a Ram truck offers. The exclusive available RamBox® Cargo Management System consists of two bins that can be installed on both sides of the Ram truck you purchase. These bins lock so that you can store valuable tools or other cargo. This keeps them out of bad weather such as sleet, snow, or rain.

On top of the locking mechanisms, the bins contain drainage holes. These holes can release any liquid if you’re storing dripping lifejackets or tarps you used that got drenched in a flash storm. This ensures that the gorgeous leather interior in your Ram does not get waterlogged.
